Vet Centers – 30 years of service
This year marks 30 years of service by Vet Centers. Their services are for combat vets and run by combat vets. Vet Centers provide counseling, peer groups and more. Found in most cities, Vet Centers do a lot of good.
This is a rough comp of a t-shirt design I submitted to the Vet Center for their 30th anniversary. It wasn’t chosen, but nevertheless I’m proud of it. The design incorporates camo patterns that each represent different periods of conflict – from (left to right, then bottom to top) Korea through the Present day. I put the contemporary patterns on top, to represent that the Vet Centers’ present-day services stand on a foundation formed through service to members from past conflicts, or in other words- older vets helping newer vets. The background is a little hard to see, but is a joint color guard with the standards and colors of all four branches plus the coast guard. A border of service ribbons surrounds the composition – each ribbon representing service that would have likely resulted in combat action.
